STURTEVANT, Wis. - The Elmhurst University women's golf team opened its 2025 fall campaign at the Ives Grove Firebird Classic, hosted by Carthage College at Ives Grove Golf Links in Sturtevant, Wis. The Bluejays posted a team score of 345 (+57) in Friday's opening round, sitting in 12th place in the 18-team field.

Elise Nelson led the way for Elmhurst with a 77 (+5), placing her in a tie for fifth overall on the 90-player leaderboard. Emily Roberts followed with an 84 (+12), while Laine Leonard carded a 91 (+19). Ava Ferri added a 93 (+21), and Ava Sweeten rounded out the Bluejays' scoring with a 97 (+25). Playing as an individual, Hailey Vogt finished with a 107 (+35).

Aurora University holds the team lead after day one with a 307 (+19), while Aurora's Thanpimol Tharpanawongwech tops the individual standings after posting a 75 (+3).

The Bluejays return to action on Saturday, Aug. 30 for the final round of the two-day event.
