Bluejays Takedown IIT for Second Win of the Season

Box Score ELMHURST Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team would host Illinois Institute of Technololgy on Tuesday night for their third game of the young season. 

The Bluejays (2-1) were led by Hannah Jacob as she scored six goals and added an assist. 

The Scarlet Hawks (0-5) were led by Antonia Martinez who netted four goals. 

The Jays would start fast as they would score four unanswered goals until the Hawks were able to get one back to make it 4-1. The Bluejays would add one more before the end of the First quarter to make it 5-1. In the Second quarter, the Jays would strike fast yet again with two quick goals to push the lead up to 7-1. IIT would answer quickly bringing the Jays lead back to five. The Jays with the help of Jacob would add two more to being the score to 9-2. The Scarlet Hawks weren't done yet as they would add three more goals just before halftime to bring the score to 9-5 in favor of the Bluejays. 

The Third quarter would be all Bluejays as they would score four unanswered goals with three coming from Corinna Salmon and one from Ashley Kay Sardon pushing their lead back to eight. The Hawks would add two staight goals in the fourth but it wasn't enough as both teams would add a few more goals to make it 15-8 in favor of the Jays at the end of time.

The Bluejays are back in action on Saturday, March 8th as they travel to Cornell College for a 1:00pm ct start time.
