NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's basketball team has qualified for the 2025 CCIW Tournament for the second-straight season.
The Bluejays finished the regular season with a 16-8 overall record and an 8-8 mark in conference play. On the outside of the tournament bubble looking in at the beginning of the month, the Bluejays rifled off four-straight victories, with three of those victories over tournament qualifiers, earning the fifth seed in the tournament of six teams. As a result, Elmhurst will travel down the road to Wheaton, Ill. this Tuesday, Feb. 25 for a CCIW Tournament Quarterfinal matchup against fourth-seeded Wheaton at 7:00 p.m.
Elmhurst and Wheaton split their 2024-25 season series, each gaining a victory on their home courts. The Jays took down Wheaton, 73-58, on Dec. 7 in Elmhurst, while the Thunder beat Elmhurst, 79-67, on Feb. 5 in Wheaton, Elmhurst's last loss before beginning their winning streak. Wheaton is making their first appearance in the postseason since 2023.
Elmhurst is making consecutive CCIW Tournment appearances for the first time since the team made the postseason each year from 2014-19.
