Bluejays Finish 8th at Windy City Rumble

Chicago Ill. - The Elmhurst men's track and field team looked to get back on track this weekend at the Windy City Rumble hosted by the University of Chicago. 

The Bluejays finished in 8th of 13 teams scoring 28 points. University of Chicago finished in 1st with 160.5 points, Lewis University finished in 2nd with 111 points and Wheaton College finished in third with 51 points. 

In Jumps, Logan Turney would not only set a personal best in Pole Vault but also become third in the CCIW top performers list with his 4.55m mark. Kayton Garrett would finish in 4th in the Triple Jump with a 12.94 mark, while he would also finish 5th in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.25m and Owen Sheley would also set a personal best. 

The 4x400 relay team would finish in 6th with a time of 3:37.87 with the team comprised of Zaiden Smith, Eric Jandura, James Palumbo, and Andrew Wieser

In the 3000m, Joey Barber took 6th (9:09.73), while Nicholas Williams finished 7th (9:12.24) making it his personal best. Eric Jandura also finished 7th in the 60m Hurdles (9.19). 

The Bluejays did record some personal bests as well, with Harry Llobrera in the 400m, and Kayden Miller and Hudson Wills in the 800m. In the Mile, Preston Bailey, Zack Fidrocki, and Martin Diaz. In the 3000m Caleb DeBoer, and in Shot Put Nicholas Ervin and Jonathan Ortiz.

 The Bluejays travel next to North Central as they will partake in the F. Lee Slick Invitational on Friday, February 16th.
