WARRENVILLE, Ill. -Â The Elmhurst University women's cross country team opened postseason action on Saturday, nov. 2, afternoon, at the CCIW Championships.
The team finished seventh of the eight teams competing, totaling 133 team points. Wheaton won the race with a team score of 50.
Elmhurst was led by a pair of Second Team All-CCIW performances from
Ashley Kachurik and
Molly Roberts. Kachurik placed 13th with a time of 22:59.1, while Roberts was 18th with a new personal-best time of 23:12.7. Other times that counted towards the team score for the Jays included Jade Benaivdes (31st, personal-best 23:55.8),
Jessica Solar (34th, personal-best 24:02.8), and
Sabrina Kadow (37th, personal-best 24:07.0).
Elmhurst also competed in the Open race, opposite of the championship race, where Elmhurst finished first with a sweep of the top-six positions.
