DECATUR, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's and women's track and field teams competed in a pair of meets this weekend at Millikin University and Washington University in St. Louis.
At the Big Blue Invite, the women finished in second-place with 114 points and the men earned a third-place finish with 57 points.
On the women's side,
Nakala Nadeau won the event title in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.21 seconds.
Lauren Marshall earned the event title in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.49 seconds.
Abby Streff checked into eighth-place with a 13.44, while Nadeau followed closely behind in ninth-place with a 13.50 in the same event.
Ava David won the event title in the 400-meter dash with a 1:01.75, while
Venezia Munoz checked into second-place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.13.
Huda Hussaini took the event title in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.94 seconds, while teammates
Naomi Jones and
Hannah Schwarz followed closely behind in third and fourth-place with times of 26.92 and 26.96 respectively.
Lauren Mack finished in sixth-place in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:31.08 and
Elizabeth Jones checked into eighth-place in the same event with a time of 5:34.44.
Ericka Creek placed ninth in the hammer throw with a distance of 35.3 meters.
Vashayla Bradley cleared a height of 1.45 meters in the high jump, while
Lauren Marshall and
Vanessa Carr placed third and fourth in the long jump with distances of 5.09 meters and 4.94 meters.
Erin Matthias earned a third-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 10.43 meters, while Carr jumped a distance of 10.36 meters.
On the men's side,
Eric Jandura clocked into third-place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.81, while
Jamal Slaven finished in ninth-place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.84 seconds.
Marvin Tchangwa earned an eighth-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:03.90, while
Andrew Wieser checked into the third spot in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.76.
Michael Colant raced into seventh-place in the 200-meter dash with a 23.73.
In the field events, Brett von Schwedler earned a sixth-place finish in the high jump with a cleared height of 1.70 meters. Rickey Martinez jumped into second-place in the long jumped with a distance of 6.42 meters. Martinez also claimed the event title in the triple jump with a distance of 12.98 meters, while teammate
Patrick Campbell finished in fourth-place with a distance of 11.80 meters.
At the Wash U Distance Carnival,
Esther Brown finished in 21
st-place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with at time of 11:49.53. In the 5000-meter run,
Annie Bieda crossed the finish line first for the Bluejays with a time of 19:50.05 to finish in 31
st-place.
Molly Glover checked into 49
th-place in the same event with a time of 20:37.53, while
Katie Nalley finished in 70
th-place with a time of 21:32.85.
In the men's 5000-meter run, Nicholas Williams led the Bluejays with a 16:59.39 time good enough for a 94
th-place finish, while teammate
Hector Herrera finished in 116
th-place with a time of 17:40.88.
The Elmhurst track teams travel to Jacksonville, Ill. for a meet at Illinois College on April 7 at 11:00 a.m.
