WHEATON, Ill. – The Elmhurst University track and field teams raced at the Wheaton College Invitational on Saturday, April 15.
On the women's side,
Mikayla Hummons earned a 10
th-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.92 seconds.
Sadie Hartmann checked into 27
th-place in the 200-meter dash with a 27.87.
In the 400-meter dash,
Naomi Jones clocked into third place with a time of 1:00.03. Following closely behind was Hartmann who earned a 12
th-place finish with a 1:02.32.
Annie Bieda was the first Bluejay to cross the finish line in the 1500-meter run. She finished in 31
st-place with a time of 5:12.05, while
Lauren Mack earned a 39
th-place finish with a 5:19.69.
Gianna Konieczny raced into sixth place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.87, while the 4x100 relay team featuring Abigail Streff, Jones, Hummons and Konieczny checked into seventh place with a 51.67.
In the field events,
Vashayla Bradley cleared a height of 1.50 meters for an eighth-place finish in the high jump, while
Kate Weber earned a 10
th-place finish in the pole vault with a cleared height of 3.05 meters.
Erin Matthias jumped into sixth-place in the long jump with a distance of 5.04 meters and into eighth-place in the triple jump with a distance of 10.20 meters.
Ericka Creek finished 15
th in the hammer throw with a distance of 38.80 meters, while Caroline Slater and
Emma Garrett earned 14
th and 19
th place finishes in the javelin throw with distances of 24.20 and 20.06 meters respectively.
On the men's side, Michael Colant earned a 33
rd-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11:53 seconds.
Brian Santos finished 39
th in the 400-meter dash with a 57.14, while
Dylan Moran raced into 30
th-place with a 2:05.11 in the 800-meter run.
Moran also placed 16
th in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:09.68.
Eric Jandura and
TJ McNamara checked into seventh and ninth-place in the 110-meter hurdles with times of 16.44 and 17.42 seconds respectively.
Andrew Wieser placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.20, while
Matt Tobin cleared a height of 4.25 meters for a fifth-place finish in the pole vault.
Patrick Campbell jumped into seventh-place in the triple jump with a distance of 11.98 meters. Chris Pedersen earned a 19
th-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 38.64 meters.
The Elmhurst track and field teams are back at Wheaton College next Saturday, April 22 for the Don Church Twilight with events starting at 11:00 a.m.
