BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Titian Open at Illinois Wesleyan University.
On the women's side,
Lauren Marshall earned a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.90 seconds. Marshall also finished second in the long jump with a distance of 5.24 meters.
Huda Hussaini checked into second-place with a 26.08 in the 200-meter dash, while
Naomi Jones finished in eighth place in the same event. Jones also earned a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.70.
In the distance events,
Venezia Munoz earned a top-three finish in the 800-meter run with a 2:26.88, while
Annie Bieda finished second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:54.81.
Nakala Nadeau earned the event title in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.01 seconds.
Angelina Camaci finished second in the high jump with a cleared height of 1.45 meters, while
Kate Weber cleared 3.05 meters for a second-place finish in the pole vault.
Ericka Creek checked into fifth-place in the weight throw with a distance of 12.65 meters.
For the men,
Marvin Tchangwa finished in sixth-place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.27, while
Nick Williams checked into fifth-place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:15.76. Brett von Schwedler cleared a height of 1.75 meters for a seventh-place finish in the high jump. Rickey Martinez jumped into second-place in the long jump with a distance of 13.03 meters.
As a team, the women finished in second place with 78.5 points, while the men finished in 11
th-place with 11 points.
Both squads are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the North Central College Slick Invite.
