ELMHURST, Ill. - Elmhurst University's
Braxston Redmond has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
Redmond, a freshman from Fort Worth, Texas, turned in a pair of top-three finishes in the 400 meters on back-to-back days. On Sunday night, he placed third at UW-Whitewater's Rex Foster Twilight Invitational in 49.81 seconds. The very next day at Wheaton's Al Carius Old Fashion Track Meet, Redmond won the 400 meters with a personal best time of 48.89 seconds. His time of 48.89 is the second-fastest 400 time in Elmhurst history and currently ranks as the fastest time this season in the CCIW. It also currently ranks 18th on the NCAA Outdoor Performance lists for this season.
Redmond and Elmhurst will compete at the Wisconsin Lutheran College's Warrior Invitational on Thursday, April 14.
