Bluejays Take Third at Wheaton Invite

WHEATON, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's track and field team totaled 42 points to place third out of five teams at Wheaton College's Al Carius Old Fashion Track Meet.

Braxston Redmond won the 400 meters, crossing the finish line 48.89 seconds to score eight team points. Marvin Tchangwa placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.44, scoring four team points in the process.

In the 1,500 meters, James Palumbo totaled two team points with a fourth-place finish in the 1,500 meters, crossing the finish line in 4:09.94. Dylan Moran finished sixth (4:15.43) and Nick Williams placed seventh in 4:16.53 in the 1,500 meters.
 
Ricky Martinez won the triple jump, recording a distance of 12.27 meters. Brett von Schwedler added a third-place finish with a leap of 11.66 meters. Jeremy Inniss finished in second-place in the long jump, ripping off a leap of 6.56 meters on his final attempt. Uzair Ali added a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.11 meters.

In The pole vault, Matt Tobin scored a point with a fifth-place finish after clearing a height of 4.00 meters.

Eric Jandura and TJ McNamara finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 110 hurdles. Jandura finished in 16.81 seconds while McNamara crossed the finish line in 17.87 seconds. Andrew Matuszewski finished fourth (1:01.88) and Andrew Wieser (1:02.14) placed fifth in the 400 hurdles.
 
Elmhurst's 4x400 relay team of Tchangwa, Matuszewski, Jeff Milostan and Redmond placed second overall in 3:25.79.
