NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's track and field team totaled 40 points to place fifth at North Central College's F. Lee Slick Invitational.

Braxston Redmond was the top performer for the Bluejays, winning the 400 meters in 50.62 seconds. His time was a personal best and the fourth-fastest time in Elmhurst history.

Marvin Tchangwa and
James Palumbo combined for seven points in the 800 meters. Tchangwa finished fourth in 1:58.56 while Palumbo added a seventh-place finish in 1:59.40.

Redmond,
Jeff Milostan, Palumbo and Redmond combined to win the 4x400 relay, finishing the race in 3:30.94

Jeremy Inniss scored two team points in the long jump by placing seventh. Inniss leaped to a distance of 6.25 meters on his second attempt. Ricky Martinez and Brett von Schwedler placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the triple jump. Martinez finished with a jump of 12.43 meters while von Schwedler placed sixth with a jump of 12.34 meters. Martinez and von Schwedler also scored top-10 finishes in the high jump. Von Schwedler placed ninth and Martinez finished 10th after both cleared a height of 1.74 meters.

Matt Tobin picked up four team points in the pole vault. Tobin cleared a height of 4.20 meters on his second attempt to finish fifth in the event.
Eric Jandura finished 10th in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.62 seconds.
Dylan Moran placed 10th in the 3,000 meters, winning the opening heat in 9:05.24.

Chris Pedersen placed 10th in the weight throw, recording a toss of 10.98 meters on his third attempt.

Elmhurst will compete in the 2022 CCIW Indoor Championships on February 25-26.
