LISLE, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's track and field team placed ninth at the Benedictine University Invite.

Elmhurst totaled 15 points to place ninth, edging North Park University (14) by one point. North Central won the team title with 160.5 points.

Logan Techentin was the top point scorer for the Bluejays, recording eight points with a second-place finish in the javelin. Techentin recorded a throw of 44.96 meters.

Andrew Matuszewski placed sixth in the 800 meters to score three team points. Matuszewski crossed the finish line in 2:00.52.
Andrew Wieser added two points in the 400 hurdles, finishing seventh in 1:01.92.

The Bluejays' 4x400 relay squad of Matuszewski,
Josphat Langat,
James Palumbo and
Jamal Slaven finished seventh in 3:36.16.

Several other Bluejays added top-15 individual finishes. Chris Pederson placed ninth in the shot put after measuring a toss of 12.28 meters. Â Brett von Schwedler and
Ethan Patterson placed 10th and 11th, respectively in the high jump after they both cleared a height of 1.65 meters.
Stefan Postman added a 13th place finish in the long jump, leaping to a distance of 5.98 meters. Palumbo scored a top-15 finish in the 1,500 meters, placing 12th in 4:13.59.
