NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's track and field team returned to action after a week off to compete against North Central College.
Elmhurst placed second in the dual meet with 35 points while North Central totaled 95.Â

Elmhurst finished third through fifth in the 60 meters.
Luca Ferrantelli was the fastest Bluejay in the event, placing third in 7.25 seconds.
Rayneal Mitchell finished fourth with a time of 7.29 seconds and
Stefan Postman placed fifth in 7.56 seconds.Â
Andrew Wieser added a fifth-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles, completing the race in 10.80 seconds. Ferrantelli turned in another strong performance in the 200 meters, placing third in 23.62 seconds.
Chris Griffith finished fifth (25.29) while Wieser placed sixth (25.30) and
Jared Szaltis finished seventh in 26.47 seconds.

Andrew Matuszewski won the 800 meter race, finishing with a top-time of 2:00.62.
Jamal Slaven added a seventh-place finish in 2:07.87 while
Xavier Ahuad placed eighth in 2:12.52.
Josphat Langat placed fifth in the mile run, turning in a time of 4:40.21.

The Bluejays turned in solid performances in the jumps. Brett von Schwedler and
Ethan Patterson both cleared a height of 1.65 meters while tying for third place.
Stefan Postman added a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.93 meters. Von Schwedler added a third-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 12.00 meters.
Chris Pederson and
Thomas Schwartz both placed in the shot put. Pedersen recorded a toss of 12.75 meters, good for second place. Schwartz added a throw of 9.70 meters to place sixth.

Elmhurst's 4x400 squad of Wieser, Slaven, Matuszewski and
Jared Szaltis completed the race in 3:52.03, placing first in the process.
