KANAKAEE, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's track and field team opened it's 2021-22 indoor season by competing at the Olivet Nazarene University Holiday Invitational.
While no team scores were kept, several Bluejays turned in strong individual performances.
Elmhurst totaled four top-15 finishes in the sprints.
Jeremy Inniss placed 11
th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.39 seconds.
Ian Loudermilk and
Uzair Ali both earned top-15 finishes in the 200 meters. Loudermilk placed ninth in 23.71 seconds while Ali finished 14th in 24.18 seconds.
Noah Packwood scored an eighth-place finish in the 400 meters, completing the race in 53.96 seconds.
Elmhurst had a strong showing in the 800 meters with three Bluejays scoring top-10 finishes.
Braxston Redmond was the top finisher, placing third in 2:00.79.
Marvin Tchangwa finished fifth in 2:03.75 while
Jamal Slaven right behind in sixth-place in 2:04.43.
Elmhurst's
TJ McNamara and
Eric Jandura placed sixth and seventh, respectively in the 60 meter hurdles. Jandura finished sixth in 9.92 seconds while McNamara placed fifth in 9.70 seconds. Elmhurst's 4x400 relay team of
Dylan Block,
Adrian Campos, Jandura and McNamara placed third in 3:42.63.
Elmhurst added multiple top-15 finishes in the jumps. Ali and Brett von Schwedler tied for sixth place in the high jump after clearing 1.70 meters. Inniss finished seventh in the long jump with a mark of 6.17 meters. Uzair finished ninth with a mark of 5.97 meters while
Jalen Thomas finished 11th with a leap of 5.96 meters.
Chris Pedersen and
Zander Romano added top-finishes in the shot put. Pederson placed sixth with a throw of 12.46 meters while Romano finished 11th with mark of 10.85 meters.
Elmhurst competes at the UW-Oshkosh Early Meet next Saturday (December 11).
