ELMHURST, Ill. – Elmhurst University's MaKenzee Velchek has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Velchek, a junior goalkeeper for the Bluejays, earned the honor after posting a shutout in goal in the Bluejays' only game of the week. On Sunday, Velchek totaled eight saves and did not allow a goal while helping the Bluejays tip Benedictine University 1-0 in overtime.
 
For the season, Velchek owns a 1.41 goals against average while totaling 98 saves and three shutouts on the year.
