NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team dropped it's opening round match of the CCIW Tournament, falling to Augustana 5-0. 

Augustana (16-10) picked up three points in doubles play and two points in singles competition. 

Elmhurst's David Demoll and Shawn Sabaricos fell to Peter Alex and Tom Friberg 8-5 at No. 1 doubles while the Bluejays' duo of Grant O'Connell and Nico Favuzzi fell 8-2 to Jack Morkin and Eric Pohl at No. 2. 

With forfeits at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, Augustana was able to finish the victory with a win at No. 4 singles. Rodrigo Medeiros downed Favuzzi 6-0, 6-0 to seal the win for Augustana.

Elmhurst plays on Friday (May 4) at 8:00 a.m. against the loser of the Millikin/Carthage contest.
