GREENWOOD, Ind. - Six members of the Elmhurst University men's and women's tennis teams were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District lists, as announced by the professional organization Tuesday afternoon.

On the women's side, junior Olivia Grabowski earned the honor with a 3.71 GPA as a psychology major. Senior Mia Merrell, who is majoring in music business, was also selected with a 3.77 GPA, capping off a strong academic and athletic career. Fellow senior Reese Coon, a communication sciences and disorders major, received recognition with a 3.89 GPA, while senior nursing major Anna Lakey was honored with a 3.79 GPA.

Representing the men's team, sophomore Emiliano Montenegro-Galarza was named to the Academic All-District Team with a 3.88 GPA in sports management. Senior Russell Reyes, an exercise science major, earned the distinction with an impressive 3.90 GPA.

To be considered for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the teams' games at the position listed on the nomination form (where applicable). Additionally, nominees must have completed one full calendar year at his/her institution and have reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
