Alex Abbuhl provided two-win efforts as the Elmhurst men's tennis team defeated Bethel College (Kan.) 7-2.
The Bluejays (3-2, 1-0 CCIW) won two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches.Â

Jenson Kingsley and Tyler Shima. The Threshers evened the match when Chris Soosalu and Davian Lightbourne defeated Matt Kulma and Ricardo Franco 8-4 at No. 2. The Bluejays took a 2-1 advantage when Luke Tanaka and Chris Harrison pulled out an 8-6 win over Logan Palenske and Jesse Voth-Gaeddert. Â
Alex AbbuhlEarly Elmhurst wins at 4-6 singles clinched the match. Abbuhl took out Lightbourne at No. 4 6-1, 6-1 and Franco quickly added a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 6 to put Elmhurst up 4-1.
Matt Kulma clinched the match for the Bluejays by defeating Kingsley 6-4, 6-1. The Threshers scored their second point when Palenske beat Tanaka 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1. Elmhurst closed out the contest by winning two close matches. Jennings came back from a set down to defeat Soosalu in a third set 10-point tiebreaker (6-7, 6-2, 10-5) at No. 3. At No. 2,
Chris Harrison used one break in each set to come out victorious. Leading 7-5, 4-4, Harrison broke and held to finish off the 7-2 Elmhurst win.Â
The Bluejays close out their spring trip with a pair of matches tomorrow. They face UW-Oshkosh at 11:30 a.m. and undefeated Carleton College at 3:00 p.m.
