ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team opened the 2015 season by falling 7-0 to the University of Illinois-Chicago, a Division I opponent, at Courts Plus.

Chris Harrison 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Isaac Lloveras and Mitch Granger downed Elmhurst's pairing of Matt Kulma and
Ricardo Franco 6-1. The Flames finished doubles play with a Christopher Cole and Nate Campanile 6-3 win over Elmhurst's
Quinn Jennings and
Alex Abbuhl at No. 3 doubles.
In singles competition, Tanaka dropped a 7-6 tiebreaker in the opening set before falling 6-0 in the second at Lloveras at No. 1 singles. Cole clipped Harrison 6-2 in the opening set and used a 7-6 tiebreaker victory in the second set to earn a win at No. 2 singles. Jennings fell to Louis Theodor 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles while Abbuhl dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision to Hedstrom at No. 4 singles. Feoli upended Kulma 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singls while Granger toppled Franco 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
Elmhurst faces Wabash and Lake Forest on Sunday, February 15.
