Emily Heimerdinger and Megan McPherson scored two goals apiece to lift the Elmhurst women's soccer team to its third straight win, a 4-1 defeat of Benedictine University.
The Bluejays scored three first half goals to break the game open.

Katelyn Allen sent a cross into the box that bounced off a couple of Bluejays and to the feet of Heimerdinger, who stormed the net and put the loose ball home for her first goal of the season.
Then, just four minutes later,
Megan Hart headed down a clearing attempt to Heimerdinger's feet. The Bluejay forward took the pass and weaved through two Benedictine defenders before burying a 15-yard shot inside the far post.

Jordin Clark played a long, low pass to the feet of McPherson, who dribbled past two Eagles and then beat Benedictine goalkeeper Maddie Frye.
The Eagles got on the board in the 49th minute when Jackie Elzakhem found Danielle Melotte to cut the Elmhurst lead down to two.
The Bluejays padded their lead in the 66th minute.
Courtney O'Keeffe won a 50-50 ball and sent a pass that sprung McPherson to a one-on-one matchup with Frye. McPherson beat the Benedictine keeper on a low shot to the far post. McPherson's goals were numbers one and two of the season.
Elmhurst outshot Benedictine 22-4.
Melinda Vickers recorded one save in the contest, while Frye stopped seven Elmhurst attempts.
The Bluejays host Monmouth College Saturday, September 14 at 12:00 p.m.
