ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team will host Augustana College in a CCIW Championship semifinal match on Friday, May 2 at the Brune Tennis Courts. The Bluejays' match against the Vikings will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Elmhurst earned the top-seed at the CCIW Championship and secured a first-round bye by posting a perfect 6-0 record against CCIW schools during the regular season. Augusana won its first-round match-up against North Central by a 5-0 score. Elmhurst upended Augustana 6-3 when the two squads met last week during the regular season.
Elmhurst won its first CCIW Championship in 59 years in 2012. The Bluejays currently own a 14-4 overall record.
The other semifinal will feature second-seeded Carthage College facing third-seeded Wheaton College at Berens Park in Elmhurst (493 Oaklawn Avenue). The third-place match will be held on Saturday, May 3, at Berens Park at 9:00 a.m. The Championship match will take place at the Brune Tennis Courts on Saturday, May 4, at 10:00 a.m. The winner of the CCIW Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
