ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team slipped to 12-8 on the season following a 6-3 loss to Coe College.

The Bluejays, ranked 15th in the latest ITA Central Region Poll, dropped to four singles contests and two doubles matches to Coe. The Kohawks, ranked ninth in the ITA Central Region, improved to 29-0 on the season with the win.

Elmhurst scored its doubles point at No. 1 doubles when Alex Harbert and Will Jung (ranked ninth in the region) toppled Coe's Noah Sprinkel and Curtis Newman (ranked fifth in the region) 9-7. Coe's Yasushi Inoue and Riley Galbraith stopped Luke Tanaka and Chris Harrison 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. The Kohawks duo of Sean Stokstad and Michael Janssen downed Vincent McPherson and Kevin Noble 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Sprinkle upended Harbert 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Jung edged Galbraith in three sets (4-6, 6-1, 6-1) at No. 2 singles. Inoue downed McPherson 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles while Newman edged Tanaka 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4 singles. Stokstad downed Jennings 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles before Harrison closed out singles play with a 7-5, 2-6, 10-7 victory over Ryan Hickman at No. 6 singles.

Elmhurst closes the regular season on April 28, by traveling to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
