ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team, ranked 15th in the latest ITA Central Region poll, improved to 10-7 overall by shutting out Dominican University 9-0.
The Bluejays doubles team of
Alex Harbert and
Will Jung scored an 8-6 win over Kevin Amarantos and Greg Tabaka at No. 1 doubles. The Bluejays'
Luke Tanaka and
Chris Harrison combined to stop Ale Dee and Mohit Shekhar 8-1 at No. 2 doubles. Elmhurst's Vinent McPherson and
Kevin Noble defeated Adrian Chavez and William Foley 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Jung rallied from a set down to defeat Amarantos 4-6, 6-4, 10-5 at No. 1 singles. McPherson dispatched Tabaka 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles while Tanaka blanked Dee 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
Quinn Jennings toppled Chavez at No.4 singles (6-1, 6-0) while Harrison stopped Shekhar 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
Anthony Condie rounded out singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Foley at No. 6 singles.
Elmhurst travels to Augustana College on April 23.
