NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team improved to 3-1 on the season by blanking Carroll University 9-0.
Elmhurst swept all six singles and the three doubles contests en route to the win.
In singles action,
Alex Harbert scored a three-set win over Jack Michael at No. 1 singles (6-4, 6-7, 7-6) while
Will Jung defeated Kevin Rasmussen 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. The Bluejays'
Vincent McPherson toppled Ryne Feritta 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles while
Luke Tanaka defeated Isaac Jordan 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.
Quinn Jennings toppled Frankie Giuffre 7-5, 7-5 at No. 5 singles while
Chris Harrison closed out singles play with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Nick Schultz at No. 6 singles.
In doubles action, the Bluejays' duo of Harbert and Jung toppled Michael and Feritta 8-4 at No. 1 doubles. Harrison and Tanaka dispatched Rasmussen and Giuffe 8-6 at No. 2 singles. McPherson and Jennings wrapped up doubles play with an 8-3 victory over Jordan and Eric Schneider at No. 3 doubles.
The Bluejays compete in Michigan on March 1-2.
