ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's tennis squad improved to 12-8 on the season after shutting out Concordia University-Chicago 9-0 at the Brune Tennis Courts.

Elmhurst swept the three doubles matches and all six singles contests en route to the win.

The Bluejays dominated in doubles play, winning all three matches by 8-0 scores. Alex Harbert and Will Jung downed Alex Tarullo and Tim Staffeld at No. 1 doubles while Vincent McPherson and Kevin Noble dispatched Vince Termini and Chayanne Martinez at No. 2 doubles. Luke Tanaka and Justin Guenther finished doubles play with a shutout over Ronald Roman and Luis Rivera at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, the Bluejays did not drop a set in any of the six matches. Three Bluejays won with perfect 6-0, 6-0 scores. Tanaka blanked Termini at No. 3 singles while Noble shut out Martinez at No. 4 singles. Guenther blanked Roman 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.  

The remaining three Bluejays also made short work of their opponents. Jung upended Tarullo 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles while McPherson toppled Staffeld 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Jim White scored a 6-1, 6-0 win over Adam Schoedel at No. 5 singles.

Elmhurst hosts Augustana College on Friday, April 27.
