JANESVILLE, Wis. - The Elmhurst College men's golf team opened the 2011 season by placing 12th at the rain-shortened Edgewood College Fall Classic at Glen Eric Golf Course.

Originally scheduled as a two-day tournament, the classic was shortened to only one day due to rain on Saturday.

The Bluejays shot a one-day team score of 315. Viterbo University took home the team title with a  298 while Edgewood finished just one stroke behind in second place with a 299.

Grant Yoder carded a 75 to lead the Bluejays on day one. Yoder finished tied for 16th place in the individual standings. Matt Cross and Evan Haase both shot identical 79s to tie for 51st place. Tyler Beyak and Joe Johnston rounded out Elmhurst's scoring by shooting matching 82s, tying for 77th place in the process.
