Men's Golf Team Finishes 11th at Benedictine Invite

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. -
The Elmhurst College men's golf team totaled a 321 to place 11th at the one-day Benedictine University Fall Invitational at St. Andrew's Golf and Country Club.

Carthage College won the team title with a 299. North Park University totaled a 302 to place second while Edgewood College shot a 304 to take home third place. Ashford University and Aurora University each shot a 307 to tie for fourth place.

Jordan Christensen led the Bluejays by carding a 78, tying for 28th place in the process. Tyler Beyak finished one stroke behind with a 79, tying for 31st place. Grant Yoder shot an 81 to tie for 51st place while Joe Johnston fired an 83 to tie for 60th place. Matt Cross added an 84 to tie for 69th place.

Elmhurst's "B" team totaled a 334 to place 16th. Evan Haase led the second squad with an 82, tying for 56th place. Jimmy Critchfield added an 83 (tied for 60th place) while Nick Dylla shot an 84 (tied for 69th). Mike Somone (85, tied for 78th place) and Jon Gill (90, tied for 103rd place) rounded out the Bluejays' "B" team.

Competing as an individual, Alex Pecenka had the third-best score of any Elmhurst player. Pecenka carded an 80 to tie for 41st place.

Elmhurst competes at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Invitational on September 25-26.
