ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's tennis team moved to 5-3 overall after splitting a pair of matches in Rock Island.

Elmhurst edged the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh 5-4 and then had its three-match winning streak snapped in a 6-3 loss to Augustana.

ELMHURST 5, UW-OSHKOSH 4 - Elmhurst won its third straight contest by holding off UW-Oshkosh for a 5-4 win. The Bluejays took two out of the three doubles matches and split the six singles contests with the Titans.

Alex Harbert toppled Nate Kilsonk 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 1 singles while Will Jung added a 6-2, 6-1 win over Dustin Blackburn at No. 2 singles. Jim White added a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over No. 6 singles. In doubles play, the team  of Harbert and Vincent McPherson toppled Hoffmann and Robbie Price 9-7 at No. 2 doubles. White and Eric Moss teamed up to topple Blackburn and Josh Hopfensberger 9-7 at No. 3 singles.

AUGUSTANA 6, ELMHURST 3- The Bluejays had their three-match winning streak ended in a 6-3 loss to Augustana College.

Harbert remained unbeaten on the day, scoring a 6-4, 7-5 win over Adam DeSimone at No. 1 singles and teaming with McPherson to topple Kyle Doyle and Nik Lehnert 8-6 at No. 2 doubles. McPherson accounted for Elmhurst's third point by defeating Lehnert 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
