OAK BROOK, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's golf team totaled a one-day score of 318 to tie for fourth place at the Elmhurst Invitational at Oak Brook Golf Club.
Benedictine University-Springfield won the team title with a 302 while the University of Dubuque finished second with a 309. Carthage College's "B" squad placed third with a 317. Lewis University equaled the Bluejays' score of a 318. A second Elmhurst squad placed ninth with a 331.
Tyler Beyak led Elmhurst's squad by shooting a team-leading 76, tying for sixth place in the process.
Mike Somone carded a 78 to tie for 14th place while
Jordan Christensen totaled an 81, tying for 22nd place in the process.
Grant Yoder shot an 83 to tie for 29th place while
Joe Johnston entered the clubhouse with an 84 (tied for 31st).
Elmhurst's "B" team was led by freshman
Nick Dylla. Dylla carded a 78 to tie for 14th place.
Evan Haase added an 81 to tie for 22nd place and
Jimmy Critchfield shot an 84 to tie for 31st place.
Alex Pecenka finished with an 88 (44th place) and
Jon Gill shot a 99 (48th place) to round out the Bluejays' team score.
Elmhurst plays at the Cress Creek Invitational on October 17.
