Men's Tennis Team Splits Two at Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's tennis team ran its record to 6-7 overall after splitting a pair of non-conference matches at Lake Forest College.

The Bluejays dropped a 6-3 contest to Lake Forest, but rebounded to edge St. Norbert College 5-4.

LAKE FOREST 6, ELMHURST 3 - Lake Forest improved to 18-5 on the season by downing Elmhurst 6-3. 

The Forresters won four of the six singles matches, and two of the three doubles contests to score the win.

Elmhurst's Dave Douglass defeated Jon Flaksman 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles to score the Bluejays' a point. Henrique Boscolo added a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 win over Nick Cantour at No. 6 singles to account for the Bluejays' second point in singles play.

In doubles play, the team of Douglass and David Devaney defeated Jon Flaksman and Tommy White 8-2 at No. 1 doubles for the Bluejays' final point.

ELMHURST 5, ST. NORBERT 4 - The Bluejays scored their sixth victory of the season by edging St. Norbert College 5-4.

Elmhurst swept all three doubles contests, while St. Norbert won four of the six singles contests.

Devaney defeated St. Norbert's Jordan Bauer 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 in No. 2 singles while Jim White added a 6-1, 6-3 win over Tommy Weller at No. 4 singles. 

In doubles competition, Devaney and Douglass downed Derek Harrington and Nate Tackaberry 9-8 at No. 1 doubles. The team of White and Justin Guenther defeated Jordan Bauer and Eric Koppmann 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. The tandem of Eric Moss and Matthew Ingraffia knocked off Lake Forest's Weller and Mike Hyrczyk 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
