JOLIET, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's golf team shot a one-day total of 314 to tie for eighth place at the University of St. Francis Invitational.
The Bluejays tied for eighth with Robert Morris University. Elmhurst finished just three strokes behind seventh-place finisher North Central College (311), and just four strokes out of a top-five finish.
Matt Cross was the top finisher for the Bluejays. Cross finished with a three-over-par 75 to tie for eighth place.
Billy Buchholz shot a 78 to tie for 30th place while
Scott Stastny finished in 37th place with an 80.
Josh Gorzney finished one stroke behind Stastny, shooting an 81 and tying for 48th place.
Tyler Qahhaar rounded out Elmhurst's scoring by placing 74th with an 87.
Elmhurst will golf at the first and second rounds of the CCIW Championship on April 16-17.
