NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Elmhurst College men's tennis team kicked off the 2009 season by splitting a pair of matches. Elmhurst dropped its opener 5-4 to the University of Dubuque, but rebounded to defeat Carroll University 6-2.
In the loss to Dubuque, the Bluejays swept all three doubles contests, but dropped five of the six singles matches en route to the loss.
David Devaney scored the Bluejays' lone singles victory at No. 2 singles.
The Bluejays bounced back from the loss to Dubuque by toppling Carroll 6-2.
Dave Douglass, Devaney,
James White, and
Justin Guenther all posted singles victories for Elmhurst. The doubles teams of Douglas/
Jarrod Kec and White/Guenther also scored wins for Elmhurst.
