CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team improved to 8-5 overall and evened its CCIW record at 1-1 after defeating North Park University 19-25, 25-22, 25-18, 24-26, 15-9.

Elmhurst rallied from a set down to take a 2-1 lead after three sets. North Park (13-5, 0-3 CCIW) responded by taking the fourth set 26-24 and forcing a decisive fifth set.

Caitlin O'Hara (Lemont/H.S.) led the Bluejays in the win, finishing with a team-high 16 kills. She added six blocks and four digs in the victory. Alison Friedrich (Wadsworth/Zion-Benton) added 12 kills in the win. Morgan Jones (Seymour, Ind./H.S.) and Emily Hilliker (Franklin Grove/Ashton Franklin Center) added seven kills apiece. Jones totaled a team-high seven blocks while Hilliker recorded a team-high 21 assists. Jameela Chaudhry (Green Oaks/Libertyville) finished with a team-high 21 digs while Lindy Melville (Jenison, Mich./H.S.) added 16 assists and three aces.

Elmhurst travels to Illinois Wesleyan University on Tuesday, September 30.
