NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Elmhurst University women's volleyball libero, Elayna Ammerman, and outside hitter, Katie Hurta, were both named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Athletes of the Week as released by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Ammerman earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after posting impressive numbers in a 3-1 week for the Bluejays. The Franklin, Tenn, native totaled 90 digs, averaging 5.29 digs/set, while adding 20 assists, and six service aces to her stat line as well. The newcomer has recorded double-digit digs in every match of her collegiate career so far and currently sits second in the CCIW in digs/set with 4.89.

For the second time this season, Hurta was recognized as Offensive Player of the Week after another dominant week on the court. The Palos Hills, Ill. native put down 68 kills across all four matches, averaging 4.0 kills/set and hitting .402. She extended her double-digit kills streak to seven matches, while also adding 18 digs and five blocks to her stat line as well. Hurta moved up in the conference rankings now sitting fourth in hitting percentage (.307), third in kills/set (3.52), and fourth in points/set (3.86).
