ELMHURST, Ill. — Elmhurst University Track & Field is proud to announce that two members of its coaching staff, David Stone and Jim Warren, have been selected to coach Team USA at the 2026 FISU America Games in Lima, Peru.

Stone will serve as the high jump coach for Team USA, while Warren, Elmhurst's head sprint coach, will serve as assistant coach for the long sprints and relays. The Games, hosted at venues across Lima including facilities built for the 2019 Pan American Games, bring together top collegiate athletes from more than 20 nations across North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean for two weeks of international competition.

"Being selected to coach Team USA is an incredible honor, both personally and for our program," said Stone. "It's a reflection of the work our athletes and coaching staff put in every day, and I'm excited to represent Elmhurst on the international stage."

Warren echoed that sentiment, noting the opportunity to work alongside some of the top collegiate sprinters and relay athletes in the country.
"Coaching at this level, against this kind of competition, is going to be a great experience — and I know it's going to make us better coaches when we bring it back to our own athletes," Warren said.

This selection continues a growing trend of Elmhurst University coaches earning recognition on the national and international stage, further establishing the program's reputation for coaching excellence.
