ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's lacrosse team has been recognized with the USILA Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year, while seniors Tommy Smyth and Pete Grebe were named USILA Scholar All-Americans.
Presented by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, the Team Academic Award honors programs that post a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year. Elmhurst met the criteria through its strong team-wide academic performance.
Seniors Tommy Smyth and Pete Grebe earned Scholar All-American honors by meeting the award's criteria: being seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and having received all-conference recognition. Final selections were made by a vote of the USILA Scholar All-American committee.
On the field, Smyth started all 16 games for the Bluejays on defense, collecting 19 ground balls and causing eight turnovers. Grebe appeared in all 16 games and totaled 25 goals, nine assists, and five man-up goals, finishing with 34 points—tied for third on the team.
