GREENWOOD, Ind. -Â The Elmhurst University football team was represented on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team by
John Odom and
Jace Zeffiro, as announced by the professional organization Tuesday afternoon.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have above a 3.50 grade point average and have participated in 90 percent of the games or started 66 percent of the games played during the 2024Â season. Both Odom and Zeffiro earned their first-career honors from the professional organization.Â
Odom earned the honors after turning in a GPA of 3.86 studying Graphic Design. The junior quarterback for the Bluejays started all 10 games as the leader of the offense for Elmhurst, throwing 12 touchdowns to just two interceptions for 1,419 passing yards.
Zeffiro, a sophomore Marketing major, turned in a GPA of 3.55. A linebacker for the Jays, Zeffiro led the team in tackles (96), solo (46) and assisted (50) tackles, while also recording 6.5 tackles-for-loss across 10 games.Â
