Elmhurst Debuts New Logos

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College Athletic Department teamed with Jim Ward Design to unveil a whole new look for the Bluejays' logos.

"We are very excited to work with Jim Ward on our new logos," said Elmhurst Director of Athletics Paul Krohn. "We felt that we had too many variations of older logos that just looked dated. We wanted to get our department using one concise look going forward."

The new look combines a more modern looking Bluejay along with a shield, combining two images that have historically represented Elmhurst College. An alternate logo of a shield with the letters EC was also designed for use by the College's 20 athletic teams.

Ward previously has helped a multitude of College athletic departments launch new logos and branding  campaigns and Elmhurst joins institutions including Washington University in St. Louis, Thomas More College and the Old Dominion Conference, among others.

The new logos will replace two older versions of the Bluejay as well as variations of the College's shield logo. The athletics website will immediately feature the new logos and the College will begin phasing out the older logos on uniforms and signage.

"We know it's not feasible from a cost perspective to wipe out all traces of the old Bluejay logos right from the beginning," said Krohn. "But we wanted to unveil our new logos on the website right away and then let our coaches begin prominently using them on apparel and uniforms for next year."
