Elmhurst University Director of Athletics, Dr. Glen Brittich, has announced the hiring of Kevin McCune as the next head women's bowling coach.

McCune joins the Bluejays as one of the nation's rising stars in professional bowling, bringing elite competitive experience and a passion for developing student-athletes. A member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) since 2021, McCune has established himself on the national stage with one PBA Tour title, and two PBA Regional titles. In 2023, he captured the prestigious PBA Players Championship, a major championship, becoming the first third-generation PBA Tour champion in the organization's history.

McCune also enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Calumet College of St. Joseph, where he earned National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association First Team All-America honors in 2020-21 after being named a Second Team All-American during the 2019-20 season. His collegiate accomplishments, coupled with his success on the professional tour, have established him as one of the sport's brightest young competitors.

Beyond his competitive success, McCune has dedicated himself to coaching and mentoring bowlers of all ages and skill levels. He has led instructional clinics, provided individualized coaching, and worked extensively with youth bowlers while helping athletes develop their technical skills, competitive mindset and understanding of the game. His experience teaching alongside competing at the highest level provides a unique perspective that will benefit Elmhurst's student-athletes.

"I'm really excited to join the Elmhurst University family and be part of this program," said McCune. "I'm looking forward to helping our team compete and succeed while also helping each player grow. I'm grateful for this opportunity and ready to take on the challenge. My goal is to help build a culture where everyone who comes through this program leaves not only as a better player, but as a better person."

"We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to Elmhurst University," said Dr. Glen Brittich. "Kevin is an extremely accomplished bowler and his experiences competing and succeeding at the highest levels of the sport will provide tremendous value to our student-athletes. What we are very excited about is his approach to our student-athletes.  Kevin has demonstrated a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring others. His vision for developing the whole student-athlete aligns perfectly with our athletic department values, and we are excited about the future of our women's bowling program under his leadership."
