ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team opened CCIW play by blanking North Central College 9-0 at the Brune Tennis Courts.

The Bluejays improved to 7-7 overall with the win.

Elmhurst swept the six singles matches and all three doubles contests.

Alex Harbert dispatched Adam Ciccone 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles while Will Jung followed with a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Rustam Saini at No. 2 singles. Vincent McPherson defeated Josh Rodig 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and Luke Tanaka breezed past Travis Kaszynski 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Quinn Jennings (7-6, 6-4 win over Mason Sass at No. 5 singles) and Chris Harrison (6-3, 6-0 win over Jesse Adamson at No. 6 singles) closed out singles play with wins for the Bluejays.

In doubles play, Harbert and Jung combined to down Kaszynski and Ciccone 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Harrison and Tankaa edged Rodig and Saini 8-6 at No. 2 doubles while Jennings and McPherson clipped Sass and Adamson 9-8 at No. 3 doubles.

Elmhurst hosts Wheaton College next Tuesday (April 9).
