HOLLAND, Mich. - The Elmhurst men's tennis team dropped to 3-2 on the season after suffering a 9-0 shutout loss to seventh-ranked Case Western Reserve University.
Case Western (9-0), ranked seventh nationally and third in the region, swept all six singles matches and the three doules contests en route to the win.
In singles play, Case Western's Christopher Krimbill downed 
Alex Harbert 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. The Bluejays' 
Will Jung dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Kyle Gerber at No. 2 singles while 
Vincent McPherson was downed 6-2, 6-2 by Case's Eric Klawitter at No. 3 singles. 
Luke Tanaka suffered a 6-1, 6-1 loss to John Healey at No. 4 singles while Case's Derek Reinbold defeated 
Quinn Jennings 6-0, 6-4 at No. 5 singles. Santiago Guerra closed out singles play for Case with a 6-2, 6-3 win over 
Chris Harrison at No. 6 singles.
In doubles competition, Healey and Krimbill edged Harbert and Jung 9-7 at No. 1 doubles. Gerbery and Klawitter handed McPherson and 
Kevin Noble an 8-0 loss at No. 2 singles while Richard Brunsting and Alex Solve gave Case an 8-2 win over Tanaka and Harrison at No. 3 doubles.
Elmhurst plays at Kalamazoo College tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. before travelling to Hope College at 6:00 p.m.
