MOLINE, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the CCIW Tournament by defeating North Central College 5-0.

Seeded third, the Bluejays disposed of the Cardinals quickly by sweeping the three doubles contests and winning a pair of singles matches. The remaining singles matches were not finished once the Bluejays secured the team victory.

Alex Harbert and Will Jung toppled Eric McKee and Rustam Saini 8-2 at No. 1 doubles. Vincent McPherson and Luke Tanaka followed with a 9-7 win over Will Exner and Boris Kampel at No. 2 doubles. The Bluejays' duo of Kevin Noble and Justin Guenther added an 8-5 win  at No. 3 doubles.

Harbert made short work of McKee at No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1. McPherson scored a 7-5, 6-3 win over Adam Ciccone at No. 3 singles to put the match away for the Bluejays. Elmhurst was leading three of the remaining four singles contests when play was stopped.

Elmhurst will face #2 seed Carthage College in the semifinals.
