Box Score 2 DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Elmhurst College softball team upped its record to 3-1 after sweeping a pair of games on the second day of the St. Ambrose University Tournament. The Bluejays upended St. Mary-of-the-Woods College 9-4 before shutting out Dominican University 9-0.
ELMHURST 9, ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS 4 - Elmhurst ralled from an early three-run deficit to earn the 9-4 victory.
Trailing 4-1 after two innings, the Bluejays scored eight runs over the final four innings.
Carly Kaminke sparked Elmhurst at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a team-leading four runs driven in.
Sarah Cademartori and
Rose Wysocki totaled two hits apiece. Cademartori scored a run while Wysocki scored twice and also drove in a run.
Bella Masini also drove in two runs in the Elmhurst win.
Tiffany Potthast pitched Elmhurst to its second straight win, recording her first collegiate victory. Potthast tossed a complete game, allowing just one earned run while walking one and striking out one over seven innings of work.
ELMHURST 9, DOMINICAN 0 - The Bluejays made short work of Dominican, toppling the Stars 9-0 in five innings.
Stephanie Iori tossed her second straight shutout, improving to 2-0 in the process. Iori scattered just three hits while not allowing a walk. She struck out five in the victory.
Cademartori, Masini, and
Clare Bukowski all recorded two hits to pace the Bluejays' offense. Cademartori and Masini each drove in a run while scoring two runs apiece. Bukowski also drove in a pair for Elmhurst. Kate Boals scored a pair of runs and drove in one while
Meg Griffin totaled two RBI in the Elmhurst win.
