ELMHURST 1, NORTH CENTRAL 0 -
Elmhurst (8-14, 2-4 CCIW) snuck past North Central 1-0 in a 10-inning pitchers dual. Sarah Cademartori lifted a game-winning sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Bluejays the walk-off victory.

Iori kept North Central off the scoreboard for 10 innings to earn the complete game shutout. Iori scatted six hits and three walks while striking out four. No Cardinal baserunner reached third base for the entire game.

North Central's Vlasta Mangia matched Iori for almost the entire game. Mangia did not allow a hit until the seventh inning. She finished the game with six strikeouts while allowing just one run and four hits in 9.2 innings of work.

Elmhurst had a chance to end the game in both the seventh and ninth innings. In the seventh, the Bluejays loaded the bases with two outs, but Vlasta struck out Julie Devine to end the scoring threat. Elmhurst had two runners aboard with just one out in the ninth, but Vlasta induced back-to-back ground balls to end the inning.

The Bluejays finally broke through in the 10th inning. Devine led off by lacing a double of the fence in right center field. Rachel Hartman pinch ran for Devine and moved to third on Erika Schwartz's sacrifice bunt. Cademartori lifted a fly ball to left field and Hartman tagged up and slid to the outside of home plate to beat to the throw and give Elmhurst the 1-0 victory.

NORTH CENTRAL 11, ELMHURST 5 - North Central posted five runs in the bottom of the fifth to break a 5-5 tie and pull away for the 11-5 victory.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one inning, but Elmhurst answered back and tied the score at three in the top of the third. The Cardinals pulled ahead for a 5-4 lead after four innings but Cademartori singled home a run in the top of the fifth to tie the score for the third time.

With two outs and the bases empty in the bottom of the fifth, the Cardinals mounted a five-run rally to pull away for the win. Erin Drennan delivered a two-out, two-run single to put the Cardinals in front 7-5. Mary Caron followed with a two-run double and then scored on Lauren Schramm's RBI single.

The Cardinals added a run in the sixth inning on Justine Walker's solo homer to earn the 11-5 win.

Clare Bukowski recorded three of Elmhurst's eight hits and also scored a pair of runs to lead the Bluejays' offense in the loss.

Lindsay Nauman took the loss for Elmhurst, surrendering seven hits, five earned runs, and four walks in 4.2 innings pitched. She struck out two Cardinals in the loss.
