WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College softball team fell to 10-20 overall and 2-6 in the CCIW after dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Wheaton College. Wheaton scored a 7-6 walk-off victory in game one and the Thunder completed the doubleheader sweep with a 6-3 win in game two.
WHEATON 7, ELMHURST 6 - Wheaton scored a pair of two-out runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn a 7-6 walk-off victory over the Bluejays.
Wheaton (15-12, 2-4 CCIW) jumped out to a 5-1 lead with a four-run fourth inning. Elmhurst rallied for two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to take a 6-5 lead.
Rose Wysocki delivered key hits in each inning for the Bluejays. Wysocki drove in a run with a single in the fifth and smashed a three-run, two-out double in the sixth.
Amanda Mattocks led off the bottom of the seventh for the Thunder with a base hit. Pinch runner Jessica Goeke moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. After a groundout, Stacy Cladis delivered the game-tying hit with an RBI double. Elizabeth Perez followed with the game-winning, run-scoring single for the Thunder.
Wysocki paced Elmhurst's offense with a pair of hits and four RBI.

Gina Venier, and
Clare Bukowski added two hits apiece in the victory.
Stephanie Iori took the loss for Elmhurst, allowing 10 hits and seven runs in 6.2 innings of work. She walked three and fanned two.
WHEATON 6, ELMHURST 3 - The Thunder jumped out to a 4-1 lead and held on for a 6-3 victory in game two.
Wheaton's Lesley Guenard drove in three runs for the Thunder, including a two-run homer in the Thunder's three-run third inning.
Elmhurst scored a run in the third, a run in the fourth, and another in the fifth, but the Bluejays stranded seven runners, including five runners in scoring position.
Wysocki continued to swing a hot bat for the Bluejays. The Elmhurst junior recorded three of the team's seven hits and also scored a run.
Katie Hruby,
Erika Schwartz, and Venier each drove in a run for Elmhurst.
Lindsay Nauman took the loss for Elmhurst, surrendering nine hits and six earned runs in seven innings. She walked one and struck out five.
Elmhurst travels to Judson University on Wednesday, April 20.
