CLERMONT, Fla. - The Elmhurst softball team slipped to 2-4 on the season after falling to the University of Wisconsin-Superior and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at the NTC Spring Games in Clermont, Fla.
Elmhurst opened the day with a 3-1 loss to UW-Superior and dropped the nightcap to UW-Stevens Point 4-3 in nine innings.

Rose Wysocki who led off the inning with a triple.
UW-Superior broke through for three runs in the fifth inning to earn the victory. Ashlee Olson singled home the game-tying run and then scored on Jenn Paul's RBI triple. Chelsey Jarzin bunted home Paul to give UW-Superior the two-run victory.
Stephanie Iori dropped to 1-2 after taking the loss for the Bluejays. Iori scattered six hits and three runs while pitching six innings. She did not issue a walk and struck out four.
UW-STEVENS POINT 4, ELMHURST 3 - A pair of errors and the inability to plate the game-winning or game-tying runs in extra innings doomed the Bluejays in a 4-3 nine inning loss to UW-Stevens Point.
Elmhurst jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning when
Lindsey Mikulecky and Bukowski both singled home runs.
UW-Stevens Point took advantage of a pair of Elmhurst errors in the fifth inning to score three unearned runs. Elyse Nelson delivered the key two-out, two-run double for the Pointers in the inning.
Elmhurst evened the score in the sixth inning when
Carly Kaminke singled home the game-tying run.
After the Pointers failed to score in the top of the eighth inning, Elmhurst had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the frame. The Bluejays put runners at second and third with just one out, but
Katie Hruby lined into a double play to end the scoring threat.
UW-Stevens Point pushed home a run in the ninth inning on a double by Nelson, taking a 4-3 lead in the process. In the bottom of the ninth, Elmhurst had runners in scoring position twice but failed to even the score. Hruby was caught in a rundown between third and home for the Bluejays first out and
Sarah Cademartori was picked off of third to end the Bluejays' scoring threat.
Cademartori was a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate to lead the Bluejays' offense in the loss.
Lindsay Nauman made the start and took a no-decision for the Bluejays. Nauman worked 5.1 innings and scattered our hits and five walks while not allowing an earned run and striking out three. Iori took the loss in relief despite not allowing an earned run. She surrendered two hits and two walks while striking out three.
