Bluejay Bowling Team Places Seventh at Eagles Baker Challenge

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst College bowling team placed seventh at the Eagles Baker Challenge hosted by Robert Morris University.

The Bluejays posted a 5-5 record at the two-day tournament and placed seventh in the overall team standings based on total pinfall. The Bluejays finished with 6,988 total pins over their 10 total-pinfall Baker games.

Elmhurst started the tournament with a 703-592 win over Rock Valley College. The Bluejays followed with a 724-699 victory over Calumet College-St. Joseph's "A" team. Elmhurst then dropped back-to-back decisions to Robert Morris University-Maroon (753-707) and Robert Morris University-Gold (733-723). The Bluejays snapped their two-game skid with a 695-609 win over Saginaw Valley State University. The Bluejays closed out day one with a 698-653 victory over McKendree University. 

Elmhurst posted a 2-2 record on the tournament's second day. The Bluejays lost to the University of Illinois 650-620 before defeating Clark University 735-562. Elmhurst knocked off Saginaw Valley State 750-614 before closing the day with a 766-678 loss to McKendree University. 

The Bluejays are now 28-31 overall and 13-20 in NCAA matches. The Bluejays bowl at the Big Red Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska.
