Four Bluejays Earn All-Conference Accolades

ELMHURST, Ill. - Four members of the Elmhurst College softball team have been named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's (CCIW) all-conference team. Amanda Bowlin and Michele Fournier both earned first-team honors while Stephanie Iori and Sarah Cademartori were named to the second team.

Bowlin, a junior infielder, earned the second all-conference honor of her career by earning first-team recognition at first base. Bowlin led the Bluejays with a team-leading .395 average and 49 hits. She drove in 21 runs and scored 20 runs, ranking second on the squad in both categories. Bowlin saved some of her best performances for conference games, hitting a team-high .409 in 14 CCIW contests. She drove in a league-best 13 runs while her batting average was the third-highest in the conference.

Fournier, a senior outfielder, netted the first all-conference honor of her career after earning one of the three outfield spots on the

first-team all-conference squad. Fournier finished the regular season hitting .352 with 18 runs scored and eight RBI. In conference play, Fournier ranked fifth in the league with a .405 batting average. She banged out 15 hits in 37 at-bats and scored six runs in 13 CCIW contests.

Iori, a sophomore, was one of three pitchers chosen to the all-conference second-team. Iori posted a 14-9 regular season overall record with a 1.97 ERA, becoming the first Bluejay to win over 10 games in a season in more than a decade. Her 14 wins is the second-highest single-season win total in school history. Iori also shattered the College's single-season strikeout record, becoming the first Bluejay pitcher in school history to fan over 100

batters (102) in a season. Her 1.97 ERA is also the seventh-best single-season mark in school history.  In CCIW games, Iori posted a 5-5 record with a 2.64 ERA. She struck out 43 and walked just nine in 63.2 innings. She ranked second in the league in both innings

pitched and victories, while finishing third in the league in strikeouts. 

Cademartori, a sophomore infielder/outfielder, was a second-team selection as a utility player. Cademartori hit .240 with 20 runs scored during the regular season. Cademartori thrived in conference play, posting a .294 batting average with 10 hits and three runs scored in 14 conference contests. 

Elmhurst finished the season with a 22-16 overall record. The Bluejays posted a 7-7 conference mark, good for a fifth-place finish in the league standings.
