ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College softball team upped its record to 13-9 overall and 1-3 in the CCIW after splitting a doublheader with Millikin University.

Millikin (17-11, 2-4 CCIW) scratched out a 2-0 win in game number one, but the Bluejays earned the doubleheader split with a 3-1 victory in game two.

MILLIKIN 2, ELMHURST 0 (Game One) - Millikin scored a 2-0 victory over Elmhurst in the first game of a doubleheader. 

Kathleen Campbell doubled home a run in the fifth inning to give Millikin a 1-0 lead. The Big Blue tacked on an insurance run in the top of the seventh to score the 2-0 win.

Millikin's Whitney Schafman improved to 12-3 by earning the victory. Schafman limited Elmhurst hitters to only five hits in seven innings while pitching the shutout. She fanned three while not issuing a walk.

Stephanie Iori took the loss for the Bluejays and dropped to 7-5 overall. Iori allowed only seven hits and two runs while striking out eight.

ELMHURST 3, MILLIKIN 1 (Game Two) - Elmhurst earned the doubleheader split by upending the Big Blue 3-1 in the night cap.

Traiing 1-0 after four innings, the Bluejays' bats came to life in the fourth. Three consecutive RBI singles from Michele Fournier, Becca Zumpf, and Sarah Cademartori gave Elmhurst a 3-1 lead. 

Lindsay Nauman made the two run cushion hold up, improving to 6-4 in the procsess. Nauman scattered six hits and one run over seven innings of work. She walked two and struck out five in the win. 

Elmhurst hosts Wheaton College on April 13.
