WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team moved to 7-5 overall after splitting a pair of matches at the Wheaton College Tournament. Elmhurst fell to the University of Chicago in its first match, but rebounded to knock off Kalamazoo College in the team's second match.
CHICAGO 3, ELMHURST 0 - Elmhurst fell to 6-5 overall following a 21-25, 17-25, 24-26 loss to the University of Chicago. Meghan Mullaney (Elmhurst/York) led the Bluejays with 13 kills and six digs in the loss. Morgan Jones (Seymour, Ind./H.S.) added seven kills. Alison Friedrich (Wadsworth/Zion-Benton), Lisa Burger (Addison/Addison Trail), and Caitlin O'Hara (Lemont/H.S.) finished with six kills apiece. Katie Buechel (Fond du Lac, Wis./H.S.) led the team in digs with 18.
ELMHURST 3, KALAMAZOO00 0 - Elmhurst bounced back from the loss to Chicago to defeat Kalamazoo 26-24, 25-21, 25-17. Mullaney totaled eight kills while Friedrich added seven. Burger, Jones, and Emily Hilliker (Franklin Grove/Ashton Franklin Center) all finished with six kills each. O'Hara led the team in blocks with three, while Lindy Melville (Jenison, Mich./H.S.) led the team in assists with 16. Jameela Chaudhry (Green Oaks/Libertyville) totaled a team-high 21 digs.
